Susan McDonnell instructs a Food Service Facility Design course in the Hospitality Management Department at Mission College. The Hospitality Management Department students have the opportunity to learn hands-on techniques for this exciting Food Service industry. I suggest that the Mission College facility is worth checking out for yourself or for employees educational goals.

Course description

Developing the skills to effectively communicate with all types of people in the food service industry. An understanding of what it entails to develop, plan and modify the many aspects of the food service design and layout. An understanding of the general business environment of the changing consumer trends and the relationship it plays on equipment selection, work flow, employee roles, management, energy and the required Government agency considerations. Planning a small food service facility is a key highlight to this course with an emphasis on "cut and paste" techniques rather than on technical drawing skills (no technical drawing required).
